CHILDBIRTH EDUCATOR COURSE
Childbirth Education is a one year course following on from the one year Doula training.
What is a Childbirth Educator?
A childbirth educator is someone who runs and facilitates prenatal classes.
How Do I Become a Childbirth Educator?
Childbirth Education is a one year course following on from the one year Doula training.
In addition to being a trained Doula, the Childbirth Educator is trained to teach a range of classes through our prenatal courses. They lead and facilitate both group and private classes.
At Birthing Rites Australia, the childbirth educator is strongly supervised in the classroom and they are coached to develop great leadership skills in childbirth education. They are coached on how to balance group dynamics and how to read the participants in the class, and how to be able to flow with any group.
You will be trained in the skill as an Educator to know how to extricate your own knowledge and self knowing, not “TELL them what you know” as most of the educators operate in the industry today.
It is also recommended, but not essential, to attend as many Doula workshops as the workshops are geared not just for the Doula, but also the Educator.
What are Entry Requirements?
- Doula Certificate or equivalent
- Interview - We exclusively handpick applicants whome we think are suitable
What will my qualification be?
On graduating from the course, you will receive a Diploma of Childbirth Education
